The Annual Rotary Wanaka Duck Race

The annual Rotary Wanaka Duck Race is one of the highlights of Labour Weekend in Wanaka. 1500 ducks and 100 corporate ducks were dropped at the top of Bullock Creek by front end loader this morning.

Ridgeline Adventures puts in a corporate duck and enjoys the race down bullock creek against other corporate ducks. It is great to see that local businesses get behind this quacktastic event.

The trademark green of the Ridgeline Adventures duck made it easy to spot, but didn't seem to help performance. Completing most of the race backwards and having a touch of trouble in an eddy, we finished somewhere near last place.

We are already looking forward to next year and will start to train a little earlier.  Enjoy the photos.
