John McLean

John is retired from business, having had a working life which was totally involved in the wool textile industry.

He was initially employed within a large corporate textile group structure, becoming a C.E.O of a subsidiary textile company within this group, following the government led rationalization of the industry during the early 1980s.

For the last 25 yrs of his business career, he has established and managed his own company which specialized in Importing, Distribution and Retailing of textile products.

He has an extensive background of wool manufacturing and marketing from the farm gate through to the finished product, including carpet yarns, industrial woollen and worsted yarns, fabric manufacturing both woven and knitted, and finished products through to retail.

John has been a regular visitor to Wanaka since childhood and had lived permanently in Wanaka with his wife Greer since 2008.
